Privacy Policy

Zynaptic Academy ("we", "us", "our") operates the Zynaptic Academy / CampusOS platform — available as a web app at www.zynapticacademy.com and as a native mobile app for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect from students, college administrators, and platform admins, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Account data — name, email, phone (optional), college, cohort, branch, graduation year, role.
- Practice & assessment data — questions attempted, answers, scores, time-on-task, integrity signals captured during proctored tests (tab visibility, copy/paste counts).
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, device + browser type. Used to operate and improve the product.
- AI tutor conversations — when you use the AI tutor, the messages you send and the responses you receive are stored for quality and support purposes.
- Payment data — handled by Razorpay; we do not store card details.
2. How we use it
- To deliver personalised practice and assessments (adaptive engine, Journey, D.R.O.N.A).
- To produce per-student readiness reports for you and (where applicable) your college TPO.
- To improve the product — anonymised aggregates only, never your individual answers.
- To send transactional emails (account, billing, alerts). We do not send marketing email without your consent.
3. Sharing
We share data with our infrastructure providers (AWS Mumbai region for compute and storage; Anthropic and OpenAI for AI features) under strict data-processing agreements. We do not sell your data.
If you're enrolled through a college program, your college's TPO and authorised admins can see your placement-readiness scores, assessment attempts, and engagement metrics within the College portal. They cannot see your AI tutor conversations.
4. Data residency
All primary databases live in AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1). Backups are kept in the same region.
5. Your rights
- Access — ask us for a copy of your data.
- Correction — fix anything that's wrong via Profile settings, or email us.
- Deletion — delete your account in-app at any time. In the mobile app, open More → Edit profile → Delete my account. On the web, open Profile → Delete account. Personal details (name, phone, email link, password) are erased immediately; learning activity is anonymised so college aggregates remain accurate. You can also email us to request a full erasure (including anonymised learning records) and we will action it within 30 days unless legal retention applies.
- Portability — request an export of your practice history.
5a. Mobile app — what it sends
The native mobile app talks to the same /api/v1 endpoints the web app uses. Specifically it sends: your sign-in email + password (TLS, never stored on device beyond the hashed access token), your profile edits, your practice answers + coding submissions, and standard request metadata (your IP, your app version, your OS version). The app does not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites. If you opt in to push notifications, the OS-issued push token is stored to deliver in-app alerts; you can revoke it at any time via the OS settings.
6. Retention
Accounts inactive for 24 months are flagged for deletion. College-program data follows the college's contract terms.
7. Children
Zynaptic Academy is designed for college-age students (18+). If you're under 18, please use the platform under guardian supervision.
8. Changes
We'll notify you via email or in-app when we make material changes to this policy.

Per India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), our grievance officer is the founder of Zynaptic Solutions, reachable at the same email. Grievances will be acknowledged within 72 hours and resolved within 30 days.
